Fremantle Motor Museum - The End of An Era
11 Apr, 2008
The Fremantle Motor Museum has been open for five years and has welcomed 250,000 visitors and hosted countless car club events in that time. It has made a vital contribution to tourism in Fremantle and was Australia's largest and most successful private museum.
Despite many pleas to the Premier and State Government ministers to force the Fremantle Port Authority to recognise the importance of the museum, the battle has been lost and the building will be converted to a ferry terminal with shops and cafes.
As a way to thanking the supporters in the old car movement, Fremantle Motor Museum is inviting you down to the Museum on the last day.
If you drive your classic car to the museum on Sunday 20 April between 9.30am to 5.00pm, you will receive free entry to the Museum.
