Members will be aware of the announcement of plans for a massive development west of Rous Head.

The Chamber's Board is yet to develop a policy on this development and will not do so until it has had the opportunity to be fully briefed by the developers.

The Chamber will also be looking at the science behind the claims that are made by the developers e.g. the impact on the maritime environment, the development's ability to be a net producer of energy and so forth.

The Chamber will develop a paper on the development and email it to all members. It will also seek the members' view before finalising the Chamber position.

Purely as an initial benchmark, we have put up a poll to gauge members' initial reaction to the project - positive or negative. It will be interesting after we have done the research and polled the members formally to see if there is a shift one way or another.
