Fremantle Truffle Festival expands across the Port City this July!๐
Fremantle is set to become Western Australia's truffle capital this July, as the Fremantle Truffle Festival returns for its biggest year yet. From 10 to 12 July, the Port City will come alive with truffle infused menus, chef experiences, market activations and gourmet events, showcasing one of the state's most sought-after culinary treasures.
Following a sell-out Truffle Extravaganza event in 2025, the 2026 iteration of the event will see restaurants, bars and venues across the heritage heart of the west embrace all things truffle. Participating venues will showcase special menus, limited edition dishes, cocktails and curated experiences highlighting the versatility of locally grown black truffles.
Visitors are invited to experience Fremantle through a distinctly truffle-led lens, from truffle inspired dumplings at Emily Taylor to truffle infused cocktails at Anglesea and a seasonal truffle set menu at Little Creatures.
Adding to the excitement, Fremantle Markets traders will be challenged to unleash their creativity in a truffle-inspired culinary showdown, crafting exclusive dishes available only during the festival. Visitors can embark on a flavour-filled journey through the Markets, discovering Eggspot's indulgent Truffle Brioche Burger and a host of limited-edition creations crafted especially for the festival.
Dog lovers won't want to miss the festival's adorable truffle dogs, with these highly trained canine detectives taking centre stage in a lively agility showcase. Combining speed, skill and an extraordinary sense of smell, the four-legged stars are sure to steal a few hearts as they bound, weave and sniff their way through the action.
At the heart of the festival, the large-scale Truffle House marquee will be hosted adjacent to Fremantle Markets on Henderson Street, offering tastings, cooking demonstrations, artisan products and premium truffle goods from Great Southern Truffles.
Visitors will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in all things truffle, with interactive experiences, prize giveaways and plenty of surprises throughout the festival weekend.
Adam Wilson, Managing Director of Great Southern Truffles, says the festivalโs expansion reflects the growing appetite for premium Western Australian produce and creates new opportunities to connect consumers directly with growers, chefs and the stories behind the truffle.
โWestern Australian truffles are recognised among the finest in the world and the Fremantle Truffle Festival has become a fantastic platform to showcase that quality. This yearโs expansion allows us to bring the truffle experience to more people than ever before, creating opportunities to taste, learn and engage with this remarkable product in a variety of settings.
From live cooking demonstrations and producer talks to tastings, pairings and hands on experiences, the festival celebrates not only the truffle itself but the growers, chefs and local businesses that help bring it to life. Fremantle provides the perfect stage for that story.โ
Chrissie Maus, CEO of the Fremantle Chamber of Commerce, says the city-wide approach will deliver significant benefits for the local economy during the winter season.
โThis is no longer simply a festival at the Fremantle Markets. It has evolved into a city-wide celebration that invites visitors to explore Fremantle's restaurants, bars, accommodation providers, retailers and unique visitor experiences.
The economic impact extends well beyond the truffle itself. Events like this drive visitation, encourage overnight stays, support local jobs and create opportunities for businesses across the city to share in the benefits.
Winter is one of the most important periods for activating our local economy and the Fremantle Truffle Festival demonstrates the power of collaboration in bringing people into the city and showcasing Fremantle at its very best.โ
Mel Jacobsfrom Little Creatures says the festival provides an exciting opportunity for venues to showcase their creativity and celebrate the best of the season.
โThis is our first year participating in the Fremantle Truffle Festival and we couldn't be more excited to be involved. Truffles are one of the most anticipated ingredients of the year and they offer chefs an incredible opportunity to create memorable dining experiences.
Our five-course menu has been designed to celebrate the richness and versatility of truffles while highlighting the quality local produce that Western Australia is known for. It's a menu that captures the flavour of the season and we can't wait to share it with guests.โ
