Fremantle’s Future Has a Clear Tourism Voice

The Fremantle Chamber of Commerce Launches Powerful Tourism Committee to Champion Destination Marketing, Partnerships and Economic Growth.

Fremantle has never been a city that whispers. It leads. It creates. It moves.

Today, the Fremantle Chamber of Commerce (FCC) proudly announces the formation of its high profile Tourism Committee – an influential collective of industry leaders, place-makers and strategic thinkers united by one purpose: to be the authoritative voice for Fremantle on tourism, destination marketing and visitor-led economic development.

This is not a symbolic committee. This is one that will deliver real partnerships and true collaboration.

The FCC Tourism Committee will act as both a guide to the city and a trusted advisory body, providing strategic insight, practical feedback and bold ideas to shape how Fremantle is positioned and experienced.

From global visitation, to local activation. From brand Fremantle, to boots-on-the-ground business impact.

At its core, the committee exists to ensure tourism in Fremantle is not just promoted, but purposefully designed in collaboration with industry to drive economic return, business confidence and long-term prosperity.

“Fremantle is a destination with soul, edge and undeniable momentum. That momentum comes from our partnerships, our people and ensuring all voices are heard. Fremantle works best when we all move together,” said Chrissie Maus, CEO of the Fremantle Chamber of Commerce.

This Committee brings together the top people around Freo who live and breathe this city and who understand that destination marketing is not just about pretty pictures. It is about collaboration, visitation, spend and sustainable growth.

Committee Members include:

  • Chrissie Maus (CM) Tourism Committee Chairperson - Fremantle Chamber of Commerce

  • Natasha Atkinson (NA) Tourism Committee Deputy - Fremantle Market

  • Matt Hammond (MH) City of Fremantle

  • Jacqueline Comb (JC) The Esplanade Hotel

  • Paige Myles (PM) Sealink

  • Sonja Mitchell (SM) Destination Perth

  • Scott Spalding (SS) Off the Vine

  • John Bradbury (JB) WA Sotherbys Realty

This group will help shape Fremantle’s story and more importantly help turn that story into economic outcomes for our businesses through greater partnerships.

The FCC Tourism Committee will:

  • Provide a unified industry voice on tourism and destination marketing matters

  • Offer strategic guidance and real-time feedback on city initiatives

  • Champion partnerships between business, government and the visitor economy

  • Support positioning Fremantle as a must-visit, must-stay, must-return destination

Importantly, the Committee will focus on what matters  - strong collaboration and partnerships that support Fremantle’s broader economic development agenda.

Membership has been curated to reflect the breadth and depth of Fremantle’s visitor economy, alongside high-profile strategic thinkers who understand brand, data and destination growth.

“This Committee is about alignment, collaboration and leadership. It is bold, it is collaborative and it is unapologetically Fremantle. This is a table for people who want to shape the future, not just talk about it,” said Deputy Chair and CEO of Fremantle Markets, Natasha Atkinson.

The FCC Tourism Committee will sit at the intersection of place, brand and business, helping ensure Fremantle’s magnetic character is protected, amplified and converted into tangible economic value.

Because when Fremantle thrives, everyone feels it.
