The winning entry from the 2024 Freo Builds school holiday activation.

Some of Fremantle's most iconic locations have been given a big screen twist, with the return of the popular Freo Builds activation this July.

Freo Builds showcases the creative talents of WA primary school students and Perth's best LEGO® builders on an adventure trail that winds its way through the city.

Freo Builds is one of the City of Fremantle's most popular school holiday activations that brings thousands of children and their parents to Fremantle each winter.

The theme of this year's competition is 'Films in Fremantle', with students invited to reimagine how Fremantle's famous landmarks would look as the settings for their favourite films.

The seven best drawings are then brought to life as models, built by LEGO® experts, and displayed at various locations around Fremantle for everyone to discover.

The free family activity runs from 10am to 4pm, Monday 14 July to Sunday 20 July 2025, with trail maps beginning at either Fremantle Town Hall or the WA Maritime Museum.

Children will receive a free LEGO® toy upon completion of the adventure trail and can participate in daily LEGO® workshops. They are also encouraged to vote for their favourite creation to go into the grand prize draw.

Freo Builds is proudly presented by: THIS IS FREMANTLE | City of Fremantle, Toyworld, WA Maritime Museum, Fremantle Markets, FOMO, WA Shipwrecks Museum and Fremantle Prison.
